THE RISE OF INDECENT FASHION AMONG FEMALE STUDENTS IN GWALLAMEJI

  The student of federal polytechnic bauchi residing at Gwallameji community axis's left residents to lament over indecent dressing.

Gwallameji community comprises of people from diverse culture, religion and state, which is now dominated by various students across the world. The residents of Gwallameji voice out their concern as issue of indecent dressing keep on increasing day by day.

Mallam Salisu Aliyu Abdullahi, a business man, also a resident of Gwallameji lament on how students walking around Gwallameji community indecently dressed. He also stated that they complain to leaders of Gwallameji to form alliance with lecturers and other bodies within the institution to regulate the issue of indecent dressing within the institution and the community at large.

Mallam Salisu added that, the issue of indecent dressing will corrupt the mind of their children and younger ones as they are watching how students are dressing without caution. He also said two years ago there was a committee set up to regulates students from dressing indecently within the community and he is part of the committee of which at the long run the committee was later demolished.

However the committee do not only regulates students from dressing indecently but also regulating theft and other illegal act within the community. Also The committee use to go out for patrol in the night to watch out for unfamiliar and suspicious faces.

During their patrol they caught three students in their two match attires from Gombe who lied about their whereabouts in the name of attending a marriage ceremony which lead them to flog them and call their parents to pick them up.

Mr Musa Matthew an SUG rider, stated that every students should dress decently because no religion accept wearing of dresses that exposes the body. “For I feel happy whenever i transport students who dress decently to their destinations, both lecturers, management of the Institution at large will be happy and proud”.

Water scarcity hits Gwallameji student area

Gwallameji, a student-dominated area in Buachi, is grapple with water scarcity crisis. The situation has left students struggling to access clean water for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene. A severe water scarcity crisis has hit the Gwallameji community,bon student both in-campus and off-campus. Since early February, residents and students have been struggling to access clean water, forcing them to go long distances to fetch water for basic necessities.
